Without doubt, HR professionals have experienced two of the most tumultuous years on record. From Covid with its enforced lockdowns, mass redundancies, furlough schemes and adjustment to remote working, to Brexit triggering an end of freedom of movement for EU citizens, a tightening labour market with record vacancy and unemployment levels plus and a sharp rise in inflation rates and the cost of living putting pressure on salaries.
Attraction and retention of talent looks set to remain a key area of required focus, with CIPD’s Good Work Index predicting that the major job exodus will continue into 2023.
