The Curve Group Launch New Service to Support SMEs with the Good Work Plan.
The Good Work Plan is an extensive reform of current UK employment laws. It’s been described as one of the biggest shake-ups of employment law in a generation and is set to affect almost every business. The Good Work Plan reforms will result in changes to contracts, the holiday pay calculation period and provide better protection for agency workers.
Whereas employers currently have up to eight weeks to provide a contract to an employee, this will need to be issued on the first day of work from 6 April 2020. Furthermore, the Good Work Plan sets out additional details to be legally included in contracts. From 6 April, employers will need to include details such as notice periods, eligibility of sick and other types of leave and conditions of probationary periods.
