The Curve Group – International Women’s Day 2018 #PressforProgress #IWD2018

Posted on March 9, 2018

To celebrate this year’s International Women’s Day, Lyndsey Simpson, CEO of award winning The Curve Group has been ‘out and about’ this week attending and speaking at events and meeting inspirational female leaders to promote gender inclusivity and parity within the workplace.

First up, Lyndsey joined a panel based event held by both HSBC and Berlin Leighton Paisner (BLP) exploring the theme of EQ v’s IQ in the workplace. Lyndsey was joined on the panel by a number of truly inspiring business women including Amanda Murphy, Head of Commercial Banking at HSBC and Lisa Mayhew, BLP’s Managing Partner.  The event was extremely well attended and was an interesting and thought provoking event exploring the question ‘Is EQ becoming as important as IQ to business professionals?’

Thereafter, Lyndsey joined a ‘Three Police Forces’ conference for a ‘Women in Police’, where she shared her journey as a female entrepreneur and talked on the topic of women in business and at work.

Lyndsey commented, ‘Whatever you are doing personally or within your organisations to recognise International Women’s Day this year, remember that this year’s theme is to #PressForProgress. From the commentary in the national papers covering the depressing early statistics around gender pay gap reporting in the UK through to the recent World Economic Forum’s Global Gender Gap Report summarising that Gender Parity is at least 200 years away… we do still have some work to do…’

The Curve Group are specialists in Diversity & Inclusion and as such are regular contributors on the topic of diversity to corporate organisations directly and within the media in addition to frequently producing white papers and thought leadership articles on the topic.

April’s CurveMal will reflect on International Women’s Day 2018 and also highlight how we have helped clients to take steps to remove subconscious bias from within their organisations.
