In July 2022, The FCA published a new ‘Consumer Duty‘ which sets ‘higher and clearer standards of consumer protection across financial services, and requires firms to put their customers’ needs first’. As a direct result, we’ve seen a marked increase in the volume of new positions being created within Risk and Compliance functions, as FCA-regulated firms seek to secure the additional expertise and capacity required to enable the implementation of and ongoing compliance with the new rules.
