Leading people through change at Berendsen


Berendsen UK is the UK’s leading supplier of textile hire and laundry services operating over 60 sites across the UK and employing over 9,000 people.

The business is more than 100 years old and has flourished through many changes. Recently the pace of change has increased, a significant example being the re-branding to Berendsen from Sunlight in July 2013. The change wasn’t just about a change of logo, but also provided opportunities to review and enhance customer service and make changes to the culture.

Andrea Richardson, HR Director UK, has given focus to ensuring that managers have what they need to ensure that the business delivers high levels of performance and great customer service. A new vision and values have been introduced and a revised Performance Development Review process has been embedded. She is now working to ensure that development opportunities align to business requirements and provide managers with the skills they need to lead the organisation both now and in the future.
